Lead Project Engineer (Secondee)

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Lead Project Engineer to support its UAE business unit, delivering engineering excellence on onshore capital projects. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing project scopes, and may require travel to Iraq.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery for medium‑size projects, ensuring compliance with Wood and client procedures.
• Coordinate with Lead Engineers, disciplines and support functions to interpret tender and project scopes.
• Develop engineering deliverable lists, man‑hours, cost‑to‑run (CTR) estimates and risk registers.
• Chair technical and project review meetings, manage action registers and drive issues to closure.
• Supervise project budgets, schedules and financial accountability, liaising with Project Control for contract changes.

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 + years of experience in oil and gas infrastructure EPC projects.
• Proven experience in detailed engineering and procurement for brownfield environments.
• Strong English communication and presentation skills, with experience in multicultural settings.
• Previous work on projects in Iraq or the GCC is preferred.
