Lead Weight Control Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Weight Control Engineer to join Technip Energies in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Head of Department, you will oversee weight control activities across offshore oil and gas projects from concept through EPC and operation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement project weight control procedures and weight breakdown structures.
• Establish weight contingency philosophies and monitor weight growth throughout project phases.
• Evaluate centre‑of‑gravity (CoG) for all items and define CoG envelopes for design‑sensitive structures.
• Coordinate with all disciplines to collect, review and validate weight and CoG data.
• Review discipline deliverables such as structural and piping MTOs, vendor data, E&I and HVAC layouts, and architectural drawings.
• Handle technical queries, site queries and management‑of‑change requests related to weight.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s optional).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in offshore oil & gas projects.
• At least 10 years dedicated to weight control reporting and budgeting.
• Proven experience with fixed offshore platform jackets, topsides, brownfield projects, offshore bridges, flare structures and modules.
• Strong interdisciplinary coordination and client interaction skills.
