Legal & Compliance Counsel (Corporate Legal Advisor)

About the role

A high-growth international technology and digital education company operating across the UAE, Europe, the US, Asia and Latin America is looking for a Legal & Compliance Counsel. The role covers group-level oversight of legal, commercial, regulatory and governance matters across UAE Free Zone and Mainland entities, EU/UK, US, APAC (Singapore, Hong Kong) and LATAM, with a focus on digital platforms, data protection and commercial operations. It is a full-time, on-site position in Dubai, reporting to the CEO.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate SaaS, vendor, marketing, partnership, licensing and platform contracts, and maintain internal templates, trackers and approval workflows.
• Oversee compliance for UAE Free Zone and Mainland entities against their license scopes, and monitor legal risk across international markets.
• Implement and monitor UAE PDPL, EU GDPR, US privacy regulations and other frameworks, including DPAs, privacy notices, DPIAs and data-mapping documentation.
• Identify legal risks, develop policies on acceptable use, marketing, sanctions screening and vendor compliance, and run readiness reviews for regulatory audits and PSP/partner onboarding.
• Support cross-border entity management, registrations, filings, board resolutions and expansion planning.
• Liaise with external counsel, coordinate pre-litigation matters, legal notices and customer escalations.
• Support IP registration, licensing and enforcement, and manage digital terms, IP usage policies and content rights.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent international legal qualification.
• 3-6 years of post-qualification experience in corporate, commercial, regulatory or technology law.
• Strong knowledge of UAE commercial law, PDPL and Free Zone regulations.
• Familiarity with GDPR, US state privacy laws and APAC norms (HK/SG).
• Experience in technology, SaaS, fintech or online platforms is highly desirable.
