Legal Counsel – Fintech & Digital Payments

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join a regulated fintech and digital payments business in the UAE. This hands‑on, in‑house role will support the company’s commercial and regulatory activities in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal support for corporate and operational matters, maintaining corporate records and statutory documentation.
• Assist with licensing documentation, regulatory obligations and compliance frameworks for financial services activities in the UAE.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including client, vendor, partnership and technology contracts.
• Support board and shareholder governance processes, preparing resolutions, minutes and related documentation.
• Help manage disputes, regulatory matters and coordinate external counsel when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of legal experience in fintech, payments, banking, financial services or technology sectors.
• Strong UAE and/or GCC experience.
• Qualified to practice in a common‑law jurisdiction (UK, US or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of financial regulations, payment services and commercial contracting.
• In‑house legal experience preferred.
• Excellent stakeholder management and commercial mindset.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving environment.
