Lifeguard – Guest Safety at Yas Waterworld

About the role

The Lifeguard role at Yas Waterworld is a guest‑facing position focused on delivering a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. You will monitor water areas, respond to emergencies, operate rides and attractions, and provide clear directions while maintaining essential swimming, lifeguarding and basic life support competencies.

Key responsibilities

• Ride and operate all rides, slides and attractions as required for operational purposes.
• Ensure the safety of guests, colleagues and contractors at all times.
• Work at heights, in water and in extreme temperatures throughout the year.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines and standard operating procedures for ride dispatch and guest safety.
• Maintain rescue and basic life support skills at test‑ready levels.
• Adhere to departmental training standards.
• Move furniture, ride vehicles and equipment within the park.
• Provide friendly service, work nights, evenings and holidays, and perform additional duties as directed by management.

Required profile

• Vision of 20/25, corrected or uncorrected.
• Swim at least 50 m nonstop using front crawl or breaststroke.
• Swim underwater to a depth of 1.4 m for 3 m and retrieve a 10‑lb brick.
• Maintain test‑ready lifeguard skills according to the International Lifeguard Training Program.
• Basic spoken English proficiency (Arabic proficiency is a plus).
