Local Business Unit Controller

About the role

The Local Business Unit Controller will act as a strategic finance partner for the Domestic Sales Unit (DSU) Project Managers operating in the UAE market. The role covers all financial, commercial and tax aspects of the project portfolio, ensuring accurate reporting and proactive performance management.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Tender Manager on financial, commercial and tax elements of tender calculations, cash‑flow modelling and exposure analysis.
• Develop and maintain the Project Financial Execution Plan, covering revenue recognition, billing, payment securities, import duties, VAT and currency risk.
• Ensure the accuracy of project balance sheets, income statements, cash‑flow forecasts and monthly/quarterly financial forecasts.
• Validate project invoices, manage bonds, guarantees and tax issues, and monitor revenue and gross margin contributions.
• Establish project governance, drive risk identification and mitigation, and co‑lead monthly project reviews with the Project Manager.
• Deliver timely monthly closings, forecasts, budgets and comprehensive financial packages, performing analytical reviews of variances and FX impacts.
• Follow up on internal audit findings and enforce compliance with corporate governance, internal controls and finance directives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field; professional accounting qualification is a plus.
• Solid experience in finance within a project‑oriented environment, preferably in the UAE or similar markets.
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts, tax regulations, VAT and import duties.
• Proven ability to work closely with project managers and cross‑functional teams.
