Logistics Lead

About the role

Hörmann Middle East FZE is looking for a hands‑on Logistics Lead to own freight coordination, shipment execution, provider sourcing and negotiation, cost control, invoice verification and logistics reporting across its Middle East and Africa operations. This role combines direct operational management with guidance of logistics support activities to ensure high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, book, track and close inbound, outbound, cross‑trade and final‑delivery shipments, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
• Source, evaluate, qualify and develop a network of freight forwarders and logistics providers for sea, air and road transport.
• Negotiate rates, conduct RFQs, benchmark offers and recommend total‑value solutions based on cost, transit time and reliability.
• Verify logistics invoices against quotations, rates and shipment references; challenge discrepancies, demurrage and other avoidable costs.
• Maintain accurate SAP/ERP data, ME2M follow‑up status, DocuSign approvals and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, customs rules, method statements and documentation standards.
• Review logistics support work quality, guide colleagues, and implement corrective actions and process improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in end‑to‑end logistics management, freight coordination and provider negotiation.
• Ability to manage operational cases directly while supervising and improving team output.
• Strong analytical mindset for cost‑control, reporting and performance monitoring.
• Familiarity with customs procedures, documentation standards and cross‑border shipping challenges.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills for handling shipment issues, inventory concerns and urgent recoveries.
