Logistics Specialist – Supply Chain & Freight Management

About the role

We are seeking a Logistics Specialist to oversee end‑to‑end supply chain operations, ensuring efficient freight management and compliance across the Gulf region.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize in‑transit shipments across all regions according to short‑term categories.
• Review monthly freight costs versus market rates and negotiate with vendors to control expenses.
• Collaborate with IT to develop reporting tools for real‑time shipment visibility.
• Work with multiple vendors to improve service levels and reduce costs for Qatar shipments while maintaining KPI targets.
• Drive operational efficiencies and manage risk areas such as SASO‑compliant goods and direct‑to‑store deliveries in KSA.
• Reduce detention costs by optimizing truck utilization and using longer trucks for KSA routes.
• Lead a team of logistics associates, providing training to enhance export process efficiency.
• Plan routes for all regions in line with government regulations and transit‑time objectives.
• Ensure smooth clearance and delivery of high‑risk categories (toys, cosmetics, electronics) in accordance with local authority requirements.
• Prepare and review monthly KPI dashboards to monitor cost and transit performance.
• Conduct regular vendor meetings to raise service standards.
• Produce weekly and monthly reports/alerts for stakeholders to improve stock movement visibility.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing logistics and supply‑chain operations in the Gulf region.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop logistics teams.
• Strong understanding of freight cost analysis, vendor negotiation and KPI management.
• Familiarity with government compliance requirements for high‑risk product categories in KSA and Qatar.
• Ability to coordinate with IT and external vendors to create reporting solutions.
