Logistics Supervisor

About the role

The Logistics Supervisor oversees and coordinates logistics operations, covering transportation, distribution and storage of goods and materials. The role manages a team of logistics personnel, including drivers, warehouse workers and administrative staff, and plans and schedules logistics activities while monitoring inventory levels and driving process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure timely implementation of daily logistics operational goals and help develop logistics programmes, support plans, budgets and timelines for new operations.
• Maintain relationships with warehouses, carriers, customs brokers and customers, and negotiate logistics costs with third-party logistics providers to support yearly budget goals.
• Help evaluate potential suppliers and delivery management booking systems, and design standard operating methods for logistics operations.
• Plan site set-up and internal and external logistics routes across project phases, laying out laydown areas and offloading points.
• Develop stock control methods, monitor warehousing and submit regular stock, equipment and prepositioned goods reports.
• Support HSE initiatives, take part in safety awareness activities and contribute to incident reporting and resolution.
• Assist in developing and maintaining logistics process documentation and comply with company policies and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a Supply Chain/Logistics-related course.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience, 3 years of relevant experience; 2 years in the GCC is a plus.
• Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Thorough understanding of logistics principles, including transportation, inventory management and supply chain operations.
• Proficiency in logistics software and systems for tracking shipments, managing inventory and analysing performance.
• ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, is required.
