Lunar Lander Test Bench Development Senior Engineer

About the role

At The Exploration Company we develop next‑generation space transportation systems, including a lunar lander capable of precision landing and reusable operations. As a Lunar Lander Test Bench Development Senior Engineer you will lead the design, development, and deployment of a dedicated remote test facility in the United Arab Emirates, taking the project from concept through to operational use.

Key responsibilities

• Define system‑level requirements and lead the design of the complete test site, including ground infrastructure, utilities, and propellant/pressurisation systems.
• Develop P&IDs and select components for cryogenic and high‑pressure fluid systems handling Liquid Oxygen, Liquid Methane, Helium and Nitrogen.
• Coordinate facility layout, foundations, structural interfaces and civil works with external partners.
• Design and implement automation architectures, safety‑critical control systems, and perform hazard analyses (FMEA, HAZOP).
• Manage end‑to‑end project execution: design, procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and operational readiness.
• Support on‑site deployment, integration and test campaigns in the UAE, travelling periodically as required.

Required profile

• Degree in aerospace, mechanical, energy systems engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years experience in propulsion test facilities or hot‑fire test bench development.
• Strong expertise in fluid systems engineering, especially cryogenic propellants.
• Experience designing or operating ground support equipment for rocket propulsion.
• Proven project‑management capability across multidisciplinary engineering activities.
• Hands‑on engineering mindset with excellent communication skills and willingness to travel to the UAE.
