Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer will lead an in‑house team of technicians and coordinate external vendors to ensure Americana Restaurants, commissaries and regional offices meet global standards for MEP, general maintenance, branding, compliance and health & safety. Acting as the primary point of contact for the regional operations team, the role guarantees excellent customer service and adherence to service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage reactive complaints and preventive‑maintenance work orders, ensuring response times meet SLA/KPI targets.
• Serve as the direct point of contact for operations, supply‑chain, finance and landlord stakeholders during restaurant operating hours.
• Plan and execute the annual CAPEX programme, prepare technical reports, RFPs and control OPEX budgets while minimizing reliance on external vendors.
• Drive energy‑efficiency and sustainability initiatives such as IoT projects, digital thermostats, water and gas monitoring, and solar‑panel installations.
• Lead a team of technicians and external contractors, organise training, shift planning and priority scheduling.
• Continuously develop personal technical skills and adopt digital tools to optimise work order management.

Required profile

• BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5‑7 years of maintenance experience in the restaurant or hospitality sector.
• Strong supervisory experience with kitchen equipment and MEP systems.
• Excellent command of English; Arabic is a strong plus.

Required skills

• Hands‑on expertise with kitchen equipment and MEP installations.
• Knowledge of UAE authority regulations and mall/landlord requirements.
• Proficiency with Field Management Systems, CAFM software and IoT‑based applications.
• Advanced MS Office skills.
