Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Enerwhere is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to oversee the performance of its hybrid solar‑diesel power systems across multiple off‑grid sites in the GCC. The role focuses on maximizing renewable energy penetration, improving system reliability, and reducing diesel fuel consumption through data‑driven analysis and optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor hybrid power system performance using SCADA and other analytics platforms.
• Analyse KPIs such as energy generation, fuel use, battery state‑of‑charge, inverter efficiency, power quality and load behavior.
• Identify and troubleshoot performance issues, operational anomalies and equipment failures.
• Support commissioning activities and provide technical guidance to field teams.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Controls, Software Development and Business Development to implement optimisation strategies.
• Generate reports and recommendations to improve asset availability and renewable penetration.

Required profile

• At least 8 years (96 months) of experience in power‑system maintenance or performance engineering.
• Strong understanding of hybrid power architectures, diesel generators and battery energy storage systems.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and interpret technical data.

Required skills

• Experience with ComAp SCADA or equivalent monitoring platforms.
• Knowledge of hybrid power systems and solar PV technology.
• Understanding of power quality and electrical protection systems.
• Electrical engineering background with familiarity of inverters.
• Proficiency in SCADA platforms.
• Diesel generator operations experience.
