Maintenance Technician – Meat Processing Unit

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will perform hands‑on maintenance and repairs on machinery used in GMG Foods’ meat processing operations. The role ensures equipment runs optimally, minimising downtime and supporting production efficiency while adhering to safety and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance according to schedule and inspect equipment for wear.
• Identify and report problems, assist the Maintenance Supervisor with breakdown activities.
• Maintain compliance with HACCP/GMP standards and document all maintenance actions.
• Manage tools and spare‑parts inventory, and follow strict safety protocols.
• Collaborate with production staff to suggest improvements for machine performance.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years experience in machine operation or technical work within the frozen food industry.
• High School Diploma or ITI trade certificate in electrical/mechanical disciplines.
• Basic knowledge of MEP systems and food hygiene requirements.

Required skills

• Breakdown maintenance and fault‑finding.
• Setting parameters and molds for processing/packaging machines.
• Preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance techniques.
• Safety procedures and equipment handling.
• Food hygiene and HACCP/GMP compliance.
• Troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues.
