Manager - Resource Planning, Strategic Engineering

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group focused on defence and emerging technologies, is hiring a Manager for Resource Planning within its Strategic Engineering function in Abu Dhabi. The role enables effective workforce planning and engineering resource allocation across multiple entities, giving strategic visibility into capacity, utilization and future resource needs, and supports governance, reporting and continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate, maintain visibility and support engineering resource planning.
• Coordinate and facilitate cross-entity engineering resource allocation, matching demand with available capabilities based on skills, availability and business priorities.
• Monitor and maintain visibility of engineering utilization and workload management.
• Ensure resource requests are complete and aligned with established processes, and perform prioritization with Strategic Engineering leadership.
• Support contractor resource tracking and reporting, and help prepare governance review materials.
• Serve as the primary operational interface between Strategic Engineering and engineering organizations, working with PMOs, Engineering Department managers, Technical Managers and Pool Managers.
• Develop and maintain engineering resource dashboards and produce regular reports on utilization, capacity outlook, allocation status, open demand, forecasted shortages and cross-entity resource movements.
• Maintain the engineering skills inventory and support competency and capability mapping, keeping resource information accurate and current.
• Promote standardized resource management practices through digitalization and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 7-10 years of experience in engineering, engineering management, engineering operations, program management, PMO or resource planning.
• Experience in a matrix organization; aerospace, defense, manufacturing or other complex engineering environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of aerospace and defense engineering environments.
• English proficiency required.

• Master's degree is desirable.
