Manager - Resource Planning, Strategic Engineering

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group focused on defence and emerging technologies, is hiring a Manager for Resource Planning within Strategic Engineering in Abu Dhabi. The manager enables workforce planning and engineering resource allocation across multiple entities, giving strategic visibility into capacity, utilization and future resource needs, while supporting governance, reporting and continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate, maintain visibility and support engineering resource planning.
• Coordinate and facilitate cross-entity engineering resource allocation, matching demand with available capabilities based on skills, availability and business priorities.
• Monitor engineering utilization and workload management, and ensure resource requests are complete and aligned with established processes.
• Perform prioritization activities with Strategic Engineering leadership and support contractor resource tracking and reporting, including governance review materials.
• Serve as the main operational link between Strategic Engineering and engineering organizations, working with PMOs, Engineering Department managers, Technical Managers and Pool Managers.
• Develop and maintain engineering resource dashboards and produce regular reports on utilization, capacity outlook, allocation status, open demand, forecasted shortages and cross-entity movements.
• Maintain the engineering skills inventory and support competency and capability mapping, keeping resource information accurate and current.
• Promote standardized resource management through digitalization and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 7-10 years of experience in engineering, engineering management, engineering operations, program management, PMO or resource planning.
• Experience in a matrix organization; aerospace, defense, manufacturing or other complex engineering environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of aerospace and defense engineering environments.
• English proficiency required.
