About the role

The Manager – Wet Utility ensures that all wet‑utility submissions from third‑party developers meet AD Ports’ development standards, authority regulations, and long‑term infrastructure plans. The role bridges design teams, utility authorities and internal stakeholders to deliver compliant water, fire‑fighting, sewer and storm‑water networks for industrial and logistics sites.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and validate wet‑utility designs (water distribution, firefighting, sewer, irrigation, storm‑water) against AD Ports guidelines and local authority regulations.
  • Assess hydraulic calculations, demand studies, pump sizing, pipe routing, manhole layouts and network capacity.
  • Issue Master Developer/Owner wet‑utility NOCs after consolidating multidisciplinary comments.
  • Coordinate with ADDC, ADSSC and municipal entities on connection points, diversions and compliance approvals.
  • Evaluate development impacts on existing networks and recommend upgrades or mitigation measures.
  • Review storm‑water management plans, including detention/retention basins and flood protection strategies.
  • Support plot‑level applications for new connections, diversions or service upgrades.
  • Participate in technical meetings to resolve comments and align designs with regulatory expectations.
  • Maintain records of approvals, load allocations and infrastructure commitments; prepare technical reports and authority submissions.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in urban planning or wet‑utility design with a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi and UAE utility regulations, design standards and hydraulic modelling requirements.

Required skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with hydraulic modelling tools and GIS.
  • Ability to interpret hydraulic modelling outputs, network simulations, pipe sizing and storm‑water calculations.
  • Capability to produce sketches, mark‑ups and quick layout diagrams for design reviews.
