Market Engineer

About the role

The Market Engineer (Maintenance Engineer) is responsible for the upkeep and safety of the Time Out Market at Saadiyat Grove. You will manage preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and ensure all public and vendor areas remain operational and attractive.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute preventative maintenance for front‑of‑house, back‑of‑house and vendor kitchens.
• Respond promptly to engineering and safety concerns, performing repairs on MEP systems and public areas.
• Maintain the market’s CMMS, completing daily, weekly and monthly checklists.
• Supervise maintenance associates and coordinate with contractors on scope, timelines and quotations.
• Collaborate with Market Operations to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Order and stock supplies and equipment required for daily operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role.
• Ability to work standing for long periods and be on‑call for emergencies.
• Flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
• Fluent English communication with management, co‑workers and vendors.
• High level of honesty, integrity and reliable attendance.
