Material Control Supervisor

About the role

The Material Control Supervisor will lead warehouse operations for engineering and construction projects, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials. This position coordinates material flow between departments and supports project schedules by managing inventory and addressing discrepancies.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and control material receipts, issues, and storage.
• Determine disposition of material overages, shortages, or damaged items and advise on insurance claims.
• Supervise forecasting of material usage and manage construction allowances.
• Coordinate with chief engineers to prepare requisitions for locally produced material.
• Arrange disposal of surplus materials and ensure safety regulations are followed.
• Initiate overage, shortage, damage, and reject reports; monitor change reports for missing or altered items.
• Participate in material scheduling meetings and recommend adjustments based on material availability.
• Prepare color‑coding, storage plans, and inventory checks for locally procured materials.
• Collaborate with procurement, field control, and field engineering to resolve material issues.
• Verify material deliveries at site and control costs through productivity monitoring.
