Material Engineer – Roads & Infrastructure Projects

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Material Engineer to support major roads, infrastructure and bridge projects in Dubai. The role combines inspection, supervision and coordination to ensure all works are executed in line with project specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve contractor’s proposed materials and methods as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
• Prepare the Material Engineer’s daily diary and oversee daily contractor activities on site.
• Attend factory visits and supplier plant inspections as required.
• Follow up testing and approvals from relevant authorities and review contractor testing requests.
• Monitor material delivery performance, schedule conformance and conduct continuous field inspections.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in design, construction and supervision of water pipelines, sewerage, rising mains and pumping stations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of existing infrastructure networks in Dubai.
• BSc degree in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognized university.
• Holder of Dubai Central Laboratory approval.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ISO 9000 quality management systems.
• Expertise in material testing, approvals and documentation.
• Strong background in water pipeline and sewerage design.
• Experience supervising construction and performing field inspections.
