Material Inspector – Roads & Bridges

About the role

Parsons is seeking a detail‑oriented Material Inspector to join its Roads & Bridges team in Sharjah, UAE. You will ensure that construction activities comply with contract specifications and quality standards across a variety of infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect demolition, construction, and drainage works for roads, bridges, sidewalks, and related improvements.
• Verify installation of traffic signals, street lighting, signage, and mechanical equipment.
• Take daily project photographs, maintain office files, and prepare daily diaries and reports.
• Confirm that only approved materials are used and collect certificates of compliance, MSDS, and inspection tags.
• Conduct labor compliance interviews and maintain as‑built plans.
• Identify potential conflicts or issues and propose solutions to supervisors.
• Coordinate sub‑consultants for surveying and material testing.
• Participate in safety and quality‑control reporting and respond to emergency call‑backs.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and proven inspection expertise.
• Ability to recognise and report conflicts, issues, and safety concerns.
• Experience documenting daily activities, preparing reports, and handling compliance paperwork.

Required skills

• Material inspection and construction inspection.
• SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan) compliance.
• MSDS handling and certificate of compliance management.
• As‑built documentation and technical guidance for junior inspectors.
