Material Planner

About the role

The Material Planner is responsible for maintaining material flow to support the production schedule while keeping inventory levels as low as possible. The role involves receiving the Master Production Plan, coordinating with technical, purchasing, and warehouse teams, and ensuring timely delivery of required quantities.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review the Master Production Plan (MPS) and production schedules.
• Establish time fences, safety stock levels, lot sizes, and monitor work order openings/closings.
• Coordinate with the Technical department to update Bill of Materials consumption rates.
• Place purchase requisitions and follow up with purchasing to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Manage material requirements with Purchasing and Warehouse, monitor scrap and slow‑moving items.
• Track material consumption deviations and take corrective actions.
• Maintain inventories of imported materials and monitor obsolete stock.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive management experience in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of data collection and analysis methods.
• Understanding of cable production processes.
• Certifications or training in Planning and Supply Chain are a plus.
