Mechanical Engineer

About the role

AECOM, a global infrastructure consulting firm, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer in Abu Dhabi. The engineer works under general supervision, applying standard engineering techniques to meet basic engineering and construction specifications, and may give technical direction to drafters, technicians and surveyors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine duties under general supervision, evaluating and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.
• Carry out walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to ensure they conform with specifications and design.
• Perform quantity surveys for tracking and reporting.
• Provide technical direction to drafters, technicians and surveyors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer with at least 8 years in building construction site supervision.
• Experience with construction projects in the United Arab Emirates.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment.

Required skills

• Sound professional judgment on details of work.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems in commercial and residential buildings (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
• Experience preparing technical reports and construction documentation.
