Mechanical Engineer – Maintenance for Equipment (Pharmaceutical Industry)

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer – Maintenance for Equipment ensures reliable operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of pharmaceutical production equipment while complying with GMP, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on tablet, liquid, and semi‑solid dosage manufacturing equipment.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Support equipment qualification activities (IQ, OQ, PQ) and maintain compliance with SOPs and GMP.
• Prepare and review maintenance SOPs, documentation, and coordinate shutdown schedules with Production, QA, and Engineering.
• Monitor spare‑parts inventory and trigger procurement requests as needed.
• Participate in internal and external audits, addressing maintenance‑related observations.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects to boost equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with oral solid dosage (OSD) manufacturing equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
