Mechanical Engineer (MEP) - EPC Projects

About the role

A well-established MEP contracting firm in the UAE is looking for a Mechanical Engineer (MEP) to oversee the full project lifecycle, from design and planning through execution and site supervision. The role is client-facing and requires technical depth, leadership and operational control. It is full-time and on-site in Dubai, reporting to the Project Director or Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design, scope and specifications for assigned MEP projects.
• Oversee project planning, procurement and execution across multiple construction sites.
• Review technical drawings and ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets and quality standards.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors and internal teams to keep everyone aligned.
• Supervise the deployment of labour and site supervisors across up to 7 simultaneous projects.
• Maintain accurate documentation on materials, approvals and contractor performance.
• Use AutoCAD for design markups, project schematics and as-built documentation.
• Monitor project costs, risks and performance, raising early warnings for delays or cost overruns.
• Interpret contracts and technical clauses and support the legal and commercial team on compliance.
• Ensure health and safety standards are enforced at every site and stage.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of UAE-based experience (8 years preferred) in MEP or EPC projects; at least one full project cycle of minimum 2 years completed.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• Currently based in the UAE with a stable career history.
• Valid UAE driving licence.
• PMP certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and general project design tools.
• Familiarity with contract interpretation, BOQs and technical clauses.
• Hands-on experience in procurement, site execution and labour deployment.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent construction sites and field teams.
