Mechanical Engineer – Site Supervision (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead site supervision for a major construction project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves ensuring that all mechanical works are executed in line with contract documents, design specifications and local authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor mechanical scope of work for compliance with contract documents and procedures manual.
• Review, approve and process all mechanical technical submittals, shop drawings, material data and method statements.
• Respond to RFIs related to mechanical systems and provide technical guidance on‑site.
• Supervise and inspect installation of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting and related systems.
• Track site progress, conduct regular inspections and prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
• Evaluate contractor change order proposals and claims, and issue recommendations.
• Manage mechanical inspectors and support commissioning, testing and hand‑over activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical site supervision, preferably within an engineering consultancy in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of local authority requirements, design codes and construction specifications.
• Proven ability to interpret design drawings, calculations and to select appropriate materials and equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
