Mechanical Engineer – Static, Piping, Painting & Welding

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to provide owner‑side technical and quality oversight for the static, piping, painting and welding scope of a major methanol project in the UAE. The role covers the full lifecycle from EPC procurement documentation through vendor manufacturing, inspection and site execution.

Key responsibilities

• Review EPC contractor procurement documentation for static equipment and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Monitor vendor manufacturing activities and participate in inspections as required.
• Support and follow up site activities against approved specifications, ITPs and quality standards.
• Coordinate resolution of technical queries and review procurement deliverables.
• Validate corrective actions for non‑conformities and approve relevant quality documentation.

Required profile

• BSc or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 15 years experience on major oil and gas projects.
• Professional certifications from internationally recognised bodies (e.g., ASME, CSWIP, BGAS, NACE, ASNT Level II/III, API).

Required skills

• Knowledge of static equipment, piping, painting and welding standards.
• Familiarity with ASME, CSWIP, BGAS, NACE, ASNT Level II/III and API certification requirements.
