Mechanical Estimation Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Estimation Engineer will support the Quantity Surveying and Estimation team in preparing accurate quantity take‑offs, BOQs, cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical and MEP works. The role involves close coordination with project engineers, procurement and site teams to ensure commercially competitive and technically compliant project proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings, specifications and tender documents to produce detailed quantity take‑offs for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, ductwork, pumps and related equipment.
• Prepare, verify and maintain mechanical BOQs, measurement sheets and material schedules, identifying discrepancies and scope gaps.
• Assist in cost estimation and rate analysis, gathering supplier quotations and building material, labour and equipment cost breakdowns.
• Support tender preparation, pricing schedules and commercial documentation, ensuring timely submission.
• Participate in variation assessment, cost control, interim valuations and reporting of quantity and cost deviations.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• 5–10 years of experience in quantity surveying/estimation, preferably within MEP or mechanical contracting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings, BOQs and rate analysis.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office; AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.
