Mechanical Integration Engineer

About the role

Pulse Nova, a joint venture of EDGE, is hiring a Mechanical Integration Engineer in Abu Dhabi. The engineer designs, develops and validates mechanical components, assemblies and mounting structures that integrate radar, EW, C2 and sensor systems onto naval, ground and airborne platforms. The role covers mechanical interface and structural analysis, 3D CAD modelling and manufacturing drawings, and ensures compliance with military environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and validate 3D mechanical parts, assemblies and structures for radar, EW, C2 and sensors on naval, ground-vehicle and airborne/UAS platforms.
• Design equipment mounts, support structures and protective enclosures in line with MIL-STD-810G (or equivalent) requirements.
• Perform mechanical interface analysis: weight and footprint budgets, power consumption, cooling, and vibration/shock loading per platform.
• Prepare 3D CAD models, detailed manufacturing drawings and mechanical installation drawings.
• Lead and support the physical installation of hardware on each platform, coordinating directly with installation technicians.
• Support mechanical checks and tests, troubleshooting of electromechanical issues during integration and trials, and environmental and qualification testing (vibration, shock, ingress protection, thermal).

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in 3D mechanical design and integration of electronic equipment onto vehicles, vessels or aircraft.
• Hands-on experience developing and validating mechanical prototypes, including 3D printing and fit checks.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-810G or equivalent environmental qualification standards.
• Willingness to travel to integration and test sites, including desert/field campaigns and naval facilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as Siemens NX or SolidWorks.
• Experience with Ansys or equivalent tools for structural analysis.
• Hands-on experience with installation tooling, torque specifications and workmanship standards.
