Mechanical Maintenance Manager

About the role

Fujairah Building Industries is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Manager in Fujairah to set up and oversee the mechanical maintenance strategy for all plant machinery, heavy utility equipment and auxiliary systems. The role covers continuous line reliability across the rockwool production areas, work order oversight, major shutdowns and spare parts coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and oversee the short-term and long-term mechanical maintenance strategy for plant machinery, heavy utility equipment and auxiliary systems.
• Direct preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on the Cupola Furnace & Charging System, Fiberization & Curing Chamber and Cutting & Packaging Line, plus auxiliary utilities such as air compressors, cooling towers, dust extraction and water treatment pumps.
• Oversee the mechanical maintenance module in Oracle EBS, review work orders, equipment history logs and maintenance cost analytics.
• Plan, coordinate and execute annual factory shutdowns, cupola re-bricking overhauls and capital machinery installation projects.
• Define technical specifications for mechanical spares, approve purchase requests for critical items and coordinate with Purchase and Stores on vendor management.
• Enforce industrial safety standards, run risk assessments for high-risk work (lifting, confined-space welding, furnace work) and hold daily safety toolbox talks.
• Prepare mechanical availability reports, MTBF/MTTR metrics, shutdown progress reports and budget variance analyses for the Plant Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 to 15 years in quality and process management within the insulation, glass or heavy manufacturing industry.
• Expert knowledge of thermal insulation standards, ISO 9001 systems and statistical process control (SPC).
• Proficiency in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) for quality data logging and production analysis.
• Strong leadership of a team of engineers and technicians, with firm decision-making under production pressure.
• Professional English, able to explain technical concepts clearly to the Plant Manager and Sales team.
• Advanced problem-solving and the ability to interpret complex chemical and physical test results.
