Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to lead the mechanical maintenance of CNC machines, Special Purpose Machines and related production equipment in a high‑performance manufacturing environment. The role ensures safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical assets through preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance programs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, assign, coordinate and supervise daily mechanical maintenance activities for CNC machines, SPMs and associated production equipment.
• Lead preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance in line with schedules, OEM recommendations and operational requirements.
• Monitor machine breakdowns, allocate resources and restore equipment promptly to minimise downtime.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and troubleshoot recurring mechanical failures.
• Supervise repair of spindles, bearings, ball screws, linear guideways, gearboxes, couplings, belts, pulleys and machine axes.
• Oversee maintenance of Automatic Tool Changers (ATC), Automatic Pallet Changers (APC), tool magazines, fixtures, chucks and clamping systems.
• Manage hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance, including pumps, cylinders, valves, power units, hoses, fittings, actuators and FRL units.
• Ensure lubrication and coolant system effectiveness.
• Coordinate machine alignment, precision measurement and condition monitoring activities.
• Monitor rotating equipment condition and initiate repairs or replacements as needed.
• Support CNC machine installation, relocation, dismantling and commissioning.
• Track vibration, temperature, leakage and other indicators to prevent failures.
• Drive reliability improvement initiatives to increase availability, MTBF and reduce MTTR.
• Collaborate with OEM service engineers, contractors and suppliers for specialist support.
• Review spare‑parts requirements and work with procurement to ensure availability.
• Maintain accurate records in SAP or CMMS and ensure compliance with HSE and LOTO procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong technical expertise in CNC machine, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and rotating equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage maintenance teams.
• Experience conducting root‑cause analysis and reliability improvement projects.
• Familiarity with SAP or other CMMS for maintenance documentation.
