Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Asab

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, breakdown and shutdown maintenance on plant equipment in the Asab area. The role supports production, quality and safety objectives by ensuring equipment reliability and availability.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventive maintenance, replacing worn parts and conducting test runs.
• Perform major overhauls, check clearances and replace components to keep equipment running.
• Diagnose complex faults, inspect and test completed work to verify performance.
• Prepare daily activity reports detailing faults, work performed, materials, labour and time spent.
• Identify and procure spare parts and tools required for maintenance tasks.
• Install, modify and test new equipment according to plans and supervisor instructions.
• Update drawings, records and maintenance system entries for continuous availability.
• Contribute to method statements, near‑miss reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Comply with HSE policies, participate in emergency response and maintain toolbox safety gear.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational focus.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance of plant equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, equipment overhaul and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read and update technical drawings and maintenance records.
• Familiarity with HSE standards and ADNOC Code of Practices.
