Mechanical QC Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical QC Engineer to join our quality controls team on a project in Abu Dhabi, UAE, within a leading international EPC contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review quality documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for mechanical works.
• Monitor design, procurement, construction and hand‑over phases of mechanical works.
• Manage inspection and testing activities and supervise QC inspectors.
• Witness and approve welder qualifications, WPS and PQR documents.
• Coordinate with third‑party testing/inspection companies and conduct statistical analysis of test data.
• Assist in audits, non‑conformance reporting and closure, and support final certification documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Minimum 13 years of experience in construction‑phase projects (ADNOC experience preferred).
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
• Strong knowledge of codes, standards and ADNOC/SHELL specifications.

Required skills

• ASNT Level II certification in Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Penetrant Testing (PT).
• CSWIP 3.1 or AWS‑CWI welding inspection certification.
• Hands‑on experience with Nondestructive Testing (NDT) and welding qualification review.
• Proficiency in preparing Inspection & Test Plans and Method Statements.
• Experience with quality auditing practices and statistical analysis of test data.
