Mechanical Technician – HSM (Day Shift)

About the role

The Heavy Section Mill (HSM) requires a dedicated Mechanical Technician for day‑shift operations. You will be responsible for maintaining plant equipment, minimizing downtime, and supporting production targets in a steel manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on HSM equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor and report any system abnormalities to supervisors for timely planning and rectification.
• Inspect machinery to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
• Manage spare parts consumption with cost‑conscious practices.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a steel plant or similar heavy‑industry setting.
• Diploma in Mechanical Fitter trade or equivalent technical qualification.
• Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance processes.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure during equipment breakdowns.
