Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of industrial and construction rack‑and‑pinion elevators, hoists, tower cranes and related lifting equipment. The role involves both workshop work and on‑site service for customers across Sharjah and the wider UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on elevators, rack‑and‑pinion systems, hoists, tower cranes and associated lifting gear.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical components such as gearboxes, drive assemblies, bearings, shafts, couplings, rollers and braking systems.
• Carry out equipment installation, assembly, dismantling, alignment and commissioning at workshops and customer sites.
• Identify root causes of faults, replace worn parts and ensure safe, reliable operation of all equipment.
• Document maintenance activities, complete checklists and service reports, and promptly report major defects or safety concerns.
• Coordinate spare parts, technical support and breakdown response with the service team.

Required profile

• ITI, diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related trade.
• Minimum 4–6 years of hands‑on mechanical maintenance experience, preferably with industrial elevators, rack‑and‑pinion systems and hoists.
• Experience with tower cranes, gearboxes, braking systems and mechanical drive assemblies is an advantage.
• Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals and work safely according to HSE procedures.
