Mechanical Technology Specialist – Drilling Operations

About the role

ADNOC Drilling is seeking a Mechanical Technology Specialist to support the development, evaluation, deployment, and optimisation of drilling and well‑related technologies. The role focuses on enhancing safety, efficiency and cost performance across our operations while working closely with engineering, operations and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and select drilling and well construction technologies.
• Participate in pilots, trials and proof‑of‑concept activities in operational environments.
• Deploy, test and optimise approved technologies on rigs and projects.
• Provide technical support during implementation and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor performance, collect data and evaluate technology effectiveness.
• Support tracking, reporting of benefits and lessons learned.
• Coordinate with OEMs, service companies and technology vendors.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures and best practices.
• Facilitate training and knowledge transfer for deployed technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or related).
• Minimum 12 years of experience in drilling, well construction or upstream technology roles.
• Hands‑on experience in operational environments is preferred.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and strong computer literacy.
