Mechatronics Engineer – Equipment Maintenance

About the role

At Julphar, the Equipment Maintenance Engineer will join the engineering team to ensure optimal performance of sterile plant machinery, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and support compliance with cGMP and GAMP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Adhere to cGMP principles while providing engineering support and maintenance activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance on sterile production and packaging equipment such as freeze dryers, ampoule & vial filling machines, washing machines, sterilizing tunnels, labeling machines, ultrasonic cleaners, autoclaves, inspection/closing machines, and cartoners.
• Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns, implementing corrective actions promptly.
• Overhaul and upgrade aging equipment when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with GAMP and cGMP standards and follow manufacturer instructions.
• Generate work completion reports, logbooks, and daily activity reports.
• Track maintenance notifications and job orders through SAP, coordinating with the SAP Coordinator for timely completion.
• Provide technical support and training on new equipment to staff.
• Assist other departments with equipment‑related issues as required.

Required skills

• Preventive and corrective maintenance of pharmaceutical equipment.
• Troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Knowledge of cGMP and GAMP standards.
• Proficiency with SAP for maintenance order tracking.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturer manuals.
