MEP Engineer / Site Engineer

About the role

An experienced MEP Engineer / Site Engineer is sought to join a team in the United Arab Emirates. The role covers both technical and non-technical aspects of MEP and civil installations on site, manages project execution, ensures compliance with quality and safety standards, and coordinates multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and civil works
• Coordinate with civil engineering teams so MEP elements integrate seamlessly into the overall construction
• Manage day-to-day site operations, enforcing safety protocols and quality control measures
• Monitor project progress, update schedules and address delays or resource constraints proactively
• Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications and design documentation to guide on-site activities
• Liaise with clients, contractors and consultants to resolve technical and logistical issues
• Carry out regular site inspections and quality assurance checks
• Prepare and submit progress reports, material takeoffs and technical documentation to stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering
• 5-7 years of proven experience as an MEP Engineer or Site Engineer on construction projects
• Demonstrated site management and project execution experience in the UAE construction environment
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations and health and safety standards
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems and civil engineering principles
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office
• Preferred: PMP, Prince2 or equivalent; LEED AP or equivalent; BIM coordination and clash detection; Navisworks or ETAP; fluency in English and Arabic
