MRI Radiographer

About the role

The MRI Radiographer will independently perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic images while adhering to departmental policies and safety standards. The role involves close collaboration with senior radiographers, radiologists, and clinical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all MRI examinations according to established protocols and produce diagnostic‑quality images.
• Administer IV contrast agents, including cannulation and monitoring, under supervision.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, reporting shortages promptly.
• Evaluate image quality, completeness, and appropriateness; forward images to radiologists.
• Operate advanced MRI software features such as bolus tracking, image reconstruction, quantification, and dynamic imaging.
• Ensure equipment safety, report faults, and participate in quality‑control programs.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and restock supplies as needed.
• Provide technical advice to medical and technical staff and respond to patient and staff enquiries.

Required profile

• Qualified radiographer with experience in MRI procedures.
• Ability to follow SOPs, safety guidelines, and quality‑assurance protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to assess image quality.
• Professional communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
