Multi-Discipline Inspector (Oil & Gas)

About the role

Bureau Veritas do Brasil is hiring a multi-discipline inspector in Abu Dhabi for the oil and gas and petrochemical sector. The inspector reviews vendor and manufacturer quality system requirements, inspects materials and welding, witnesses tests and prepares inspection reports.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify manufacturer and vendor documents against purchase orders, material specifications and project specifications.
• Carry out material receiving inspection of all permanent project materials supplied by the EPC contractor.
• Witness and verify procedure and welder qualifications; review and approve inspection and test plans and material certificates.
• Monitor, inspect and approve welding, welding procedures, NDT work, PWHT and pressure vessel, heat exchanger and pressurised piping inspection during fabrication.
• Witness hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, and inspect surface preparation, painting and insulation.
• Raise non-conformance reports and verify corrective and preventive actions on received materials.
• Prepare concise weekly and monthly inspection reports.

Required profile

• Degree in mechanical, electrical, welding or metallurgical engineering.
• Minimum 12 years' experience in onshore and offshore oil and gas or petrochemical third-party inspection, including welding, process piping, mechanical equipment, painting, coating, wrapping and hydro testing, and advanced NDT methods.
• Experience reviewing and approving multidiscipline ITPs, procedures, site queries, NCRs and concession requests.
• Proven experience liaising with EPC contractors.
• Very good spoken and written English, including technical reports, procedures and QA/QC documentation.

Required skills

• CSWIP 3.2, AWS-Sr, CWI or ERS welding inspection and PCN level II qualification desirable; BGAS Level 2 or NACE Level 1 certification required.
• Familiarity with ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO and BS codes.
