Neonatologist – NICU (Oman)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Neonatologist to join our leading healthcare facility in Oman. The role involves delivering specialised care to premature and critically ill newborns within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to premature, low‑birth‑weight and critically ill newborns.
• Manage neonatal emergencies, respiratory distress, sepsis, jaundice and other conditions.
• Operate mechanical ventilation, CPAP and other respiratory support equipment.
• Conduct neonatal assessments, monitor growth and clinical progress.
• Coordinate investigations and treatment plans with obstetricians, paediatricians and nurses.
• Counsel parents on condition, treatment options, prognosis and follow‑up.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, clinical audits and on‑call duties.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• MD/DNB/MRCPCH/Arab Board or equivalent qualification in Neonatology/Pediatrics with Neonatal Fellowship.
• Valid or eligible Oman medical licence.
• Minimum 3 years post‑specialisation experience in Neonatology.
• Strong NICU experience with premature and critically ill newborns.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication and teamwork skills.
