Neonatology Specialist

About the role

The Specialist in Neonatology will provide high‑quality clinical care to newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Nursery, ensuring ethical and professional standards are upheld.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive neonatology services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and emergency care.
• Conduct daily rounds, order investigations, prescribe medications and advise nursing and dietary care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with clinical governance, JCI, ISO and local health regulations.
• Participate in on‑call neonatal emergency coverage and provide consultative support to other medical services.
• Engage in quality assurance, guideline development, committee work and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience at specialist level, including at least 1 year in a Tier 1 country as defined by UAE regulator.
• Medical degree with recognized neonatology fellowship/diploma and registration with UAE health authority.
• Active life‑support certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP).
• Eligibility for UAE healthcare authority registration (e.g., Royal College membership, Arab Board, MS/DM/MPhil).

Required skills

• Emergency neonatal resuscitation and on‑call coverage.
