Network Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our dynamic team at Crescent Petroleum in Sharjah. The role has a direct impact on designing and enhancing network features to keep systems running smoothly, while ensuring safe and efficient network operations through monitoring, maintenance, and rapid issue response.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, maintain and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, wireless networks, VPNs and related services.
• Monitor network performance, conduct regular tests, and manage QoS to guarantee high‑availability and security.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and diagrams for network interconnections.
• Analyze core, distribution and access architecture to identify dependencies, points of failure and recommend resiliency improvements.
• Implement and maintain network security in collaboration with the security team, and efficiently communicate escalations and outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 6–8 years of experience configuring and implementing multi‑vendor hardware networks.
• Hands‑on experience with IPSec tunnels, SSL VPN and designing high‑performance wireless networks.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team‑focused environment.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of networking protocols: TCP/IP, QoS, traffic shaping.
• Configuration and troubleshooting of multi‑vendor hardware, STP, VPC, VLAN design.
• Experience with IPSec tunnels, SSL VPN, and wireless network design.
• Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools.
• Understanding of cloud computing platforms and network security.
• Ability to create detailed low‑level and high‑level design diagrams.
• CCNP or CCIE certification (preferred).
