Network Technician - IT Operations Engineering And Support

About the role

Wynn Al Marjan Island is seeking a Network Technician to join its IT Infrastructure team. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the resort’s network cabling infrastructure, including both fiber optic and copper systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network cabling infrastructure (fiber optic and CAT6).
• Perform fiber optic and cable splicing, termination, testing, and certification activities.
• Install and support network hardware such as switches, routers, and wireless access points.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on network infrastructure and connectivity systems.
• Troubleshoot network, cabling, and connectivity issues and execute corrective actions.
• Perform fiber and copper cable testing using industry‑standard equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, testing results, and maintenance activities.
• Follow safety procedures and support network deployment projects across the property.
• Collaborate with IT teams, contractors, and vendors during installations and upgrades.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in structured cabling, fiber optic installation, network support, or telecommunications environments.
• Strong experience with CAT6 cable installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and certification.
• Hands‑on experience in fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing of Single‑Mode and Multi‑Mode networks.
• Proficiency with fiber and cable testing equipment (OTDRs, power meters, Fluke tools) and basic LAN/WAN networking concepts.
• Ability to read network diagrams and installation drawings, troubleshoot effectively, and hold relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or FOA CFOT (preferred).
• Physically fit for field duties, including standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, working in ceiling spaces, and lifting equipment.
