Network Technician

About the role

The Network Technician reports to the Head of IT and works closely with the Network Engineering team, providing hands‑on field support for installations, replacements and fault resolution at residential sites and events. The primary goal is to maximise network uptime through rapid troubleshooting, clear communication and well‑planned work.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and replace network equipment such as access points, switches, routers and CCTV devices at residential and event locations.
• Diagnose and resolve support tickets promptly, escalating to the Network Engineering team when necessary.
• Pull, terminate, test and troubleshoot high‑performance ELV cabling, including Cat6 and fibre‑optic, and document work to company standards.
• Support event deployments through installation, testing, live operations and dismantling, often working outdoors and outside standard office hours.
• Plan and prioritise daily field activities, keeping the NOC, Network Engineers and on‑site staff informed of status and issues.
• Maintain accurate equipment and spare‑parts inventory records and report recurring faults for root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in network field support or a comparable technical role.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, able to stay composed under pressure.
• Excellent English communication; proficiency in Hindi, Urdu or Arabic is an advantage.
• Valid UAE driving licence and flexibility to work extended or non‑standard hours during events.

Required skills

• Networking fundamentals: VLANs, DHCP, PoE, wireless technologies and basic routing.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise wireless and switching platforms (Ruckus SmartZone, Ruckus ICX, Aruba, MikroTik, Ubiquiti).
• ELV cabling installation, termination and testing for Cat6 and fibre‑optic cables.
• CCTV systems knowledge, preferably Hikvision.
