About the role

The Nurse In Charge – Operation Theatre will lead nursing care within the surgical suite, ensuring patient safety, high‑quality clinical practice, and compliance with UAE health regulations. This role reports to senior management and works closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the operation theatre.
• Maintain a safe environment by speaking up on safety concerns and following infection‑control protocols.
• Supervise, mentor and pre‑cept pre‑registration nurses, newly hired staff, and students.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, incident reporting and audits.
• Ensure all mandatory training and competency requirements are met and documented.
• Support the acquisition and safe use of medical devices.

Required profile

• Registered nurse licensed by the UAE regulator.
• Demonstrated ability to work within scope of practice and uphold professional standards.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Willingness to contribute to teaching, mentorship and performance‑improvement plans.

Required skills

• Competency in operating‑theatre nursing procedures.
• Knowledge of UAE health‑care regulations and NMC Nurse Competency Matrix.
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.
