OCONUS Junior OSINT/CAT III Linguist

About the role

The Counterintelligence Operational Support Team is seeking junior linguists (CAT II/III) to provide OSINT research, translation, and cultural analysis for USAF OSI across the CENTCOM area of responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Translate, transcribe, and interpret source‑language material from audio, video, and written media, ensuring literal accuracy and cultural context.
• Conduct open‑source intelligence (OSINT) research on foreign language websites, news outlets, and social media to identify trends, threats, and cultural insights.
• Produce analytical reports, briefings, and cultural awareness briefs for AFOSI commanders and forward‑deployed units.
• Support media exploitation reviews, social network analysis, and threat reporting in the target language.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with an active Top‑Secret clearance and eligibility for SCI.
• Minimum two years of experience researching in the source language on foreign‑language websites.
• ILR/DLPT Level 3 or higher in reading, listening, and speaking for both English and the target language.
• Ability to travel within the AOR up to 30% of the time.
