Open Rank Faculty Position in 19th/20th Century History

About the role

The Department of International Studies seeks an open‑rank faculty member to teach and research 19th and 20th century history. The position begins in Fall 2027 and is full‑time, with responsibilities that include teaching, curriculum development, and contributing to the graduate program.

Key responsibilities

• Teach World History survey courses and upper‑level classes aligned with expertise.
• Develop new courses in the candidate’s specialization, including US History surveys where applicable.
• Maintain an active research agenda with publications in reputable venues.
• Supervise graduate students and participate in departmental service activities.
• Seek internal grant funding to support course releases, conference travel, and research.

Required profile

• PhD in History.
• At least one year of documented excellent teaching experience.
• Consistent record of scholarly publications.
• Experience teaching US History surveys is a strong plus.
• Ability to work within an American‑mode higher‑education environment.
