Operations Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems

About the role

Masdar is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the BESS Procurement Company. You will oversee the end‑to‑end operations of battery energy storage system procurement, testing, and delivery, ensuring compliance with technical and financial requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage BESS Procurement Company operations, including qualification testing, pre‑production and warranty testing.
• Oversee third‑party inspection agencies for qualification, pre‑shipment, production, site, and warranty testing.
• Control the production process of purchased technologies and supervise supplier qualification in line with contracts and supply‑chain policies.
• Coordinate manufacturing and transportation schedules, delivery plans, storage arrangements, and ensure Bill‑of‑Materials traceability for lender requirements.
• Handle finance processes: open LCs, review documentation, issue invoices, manage cash flow, coordinate with banks and SPVs, and administer performance and warranty bonds.
• Support technical negotiations of supply agreements to protect consortium and shareholder interests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, finance or a related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in contracts and purchasing within a large organization, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
