Oracle Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

An experienced Oracle Infrastructure Engineer is sought with 4-6 years of hands-on experience in Oracle engineered systems. The role covers deployment, administration, patching, maintenance and troubleshooting of Oracle Exadata, ODA, ZDLRA and PCA, along with SPARC/x86 servers, ZFS Storage, Solaris and Oracle Linux.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, administer, patch and troubleshoot Oracle engineered systems including Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA) and Private Cloud Appliance (PCA)
• Manage and maintain Oracle SPARC and x86 server platforms, including hardware lifecycle management, firmware updates and capacity planning
• Administer Oracle ZFS Storage solutions, covering configuration, replication, performance optimization and fault resolution
• Operate and support Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux at an advanced administrative level
• Carry out proactive health checks, risk assessments and infrastructure reviews for client environments
• Resolve escalated technical issues quickly and methodically, with minimal impact on client operations
• Produce technical documentation such as runbooks, incident reports and configuration records
• Liaise directly with clients, giving professional guidance and maintaining strong working relationships

Required profile

• 4-6 years of hands-on experience in Oracle infrastructure and engineered systems administration
• Deep understanding of Oracle Exadata architecture, components and key features, including patching and maintenance lifecycle
• Experience installing, configuring, patching and maintaining Exadata, and practical knowledge of ODA, ZDLRA and PCA
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A methodical approach to troubleshooting

Required skills

• Oracle Database fundamentals (RAC/ASM), ASM disk group management, RMAN and Data Pump
• Oracle SPARC and x86 server administration
• Oracle ZFS Storage, Solaris and Oracle Linux
• Oracle KVM virtualization; preferred: Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Cloud, ExaCCK, networking basics, Shell or Python scripting, and Oracle certifications (OCA, OCP, Exadata)
