Panel Operator

About the role

The Panel Operator is responsible for supervising, monitoring and controlling the process parameters of multiple hydrocarbon processing units and associated utilities. Working from the control room, the operator ensures safe and efficient plant operation while maintaining continuous communication with field personnel and other plant areas.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and record process parameters via Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS), identifying deviations and escalating when necessary.
• Coordinate with field teams to adjust flow, temperature, and chemistry within defined operating envelopes.
• Manage equipment isolation for maintenance, oversee safe shutdown and start‑up procedures, and ensure proper handover to maintenance crews.
• Review permit‑to‑work records to confirm compliance with operating procedures.
• Respond to alarms, trips, and emergency situations, communicating with shift supervisors and external operators.
• Lead troubleshooting activities and execute planned or emergency shutdowns to protect plant integrity.
• Maintain accurate logs of key parameters for both process and utility systems.
• Implement and adhere to all relevant HSE policies, procedures, and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Required profile

• Ability to work in a shift‑based environment and maintain continuous contact with plant areas.
• Strong awareness of safety, health, environment and sustainability requirements.
• Willingness to participate in emergency response duties and on‑the‑job training programs.
